Malt Liquor License (Beer)

Required Forms

To apply for a new 3.2 % Malt Liquor License (Beer) for your establishment, complete the following forms and submit to our office at the address on the right, along with the required fee, listed below:

Fees

All fees include the Application Background Investigation fee charged by the sheriff; payment must be made to Crow Wing County Auditor-Treasurer.
  • $225 On Sale
  • $175 Off Sale
  • $250 On/Off Sale

Required Approvals

  • Consent of Town Board: Contact the Town Clerk immediately to be placed on the agenda; Town Board approval is required on this form prior to returning the application
  • Upon receipt of all documents, our office will obtain the following county approvals:
    • Sheriff
    • Attorney
    • Board of Commissioners

Additional Requirements

  • Affidavit as to sales
    • Complete if sales are less than $25,000 per year for On Sale and/or $50,000 for Off Sale
  • Certificate of Insurance
    • Required if sales are greater than $25,000 per year for ON Sale and/or $50,000 for Off Sale
    • The name on the insurance certificate must match exactly with the applicant name on the application
    • Coverage term of current date to June 30th to coincide with the license period
    • Certificate to be in favor of Crow Wing County not Liquor Control
  • All forms must be processed and a license issued prior to selling beer
